France
Day 3
Enjoy a magical dog sledding experience, discover the beauty of Les Saisies by foot, and end your day with a traditional raclette.

Enjoy a magical dog sleigh experience
If you thought you had to travel all the way to Scandinavia to experience an authentic dog sleigh ride, then Les Saisies is here to prove you wrong. Expérience Montagne offers this unforgettable activity just outside of the village with their 85 (!) extremely well-trained and much loved dogs. You learn all about the history of dog sledding in France and get a meet and greet with your new furry friends before enjoying a magical ride of about 30 minutes through a winter wonderland forest. A truly magical experience that is a must-do when in the area.

Discover the beauty of Les Saisies by foot
I've never seen any ski resort that offers as many hiking opportunities as the Espace Diamant. In fact, at some point I think we even saw more hikers than skiers out. For just €3 you can get a map of all the hiking trails in the area at the tourist office of Les Saisies. All trails are very well-prepared and offer scenic views that are usually reserved to wintersporters. Whether you'd like to hire snow racket shoes or just enjoy a relaxed walk through the alpine nature, soaking up the beauty of this area at your own pace is a great way to spend your time here. Even a lot of the gondola's have a special pedestrian entry.

Indulge in a traditional raclette
No trip to the French Alps is truly complete without having tried a traditional raclette. This delicacy with local cheeses to melt and fine meats is typically served with pickles, potatoes and a freshly baked baguette and best enjoyed together. You don't have to look very hard to be able to try it, as almost every local restaurant will serve it. But when staying at Résidence Amaya, you can even enjoy raclette in the comfort of your own chalet thanks to their handy catering service.
